Applying to Mistwood
We enroll new students to join our classes in September. If Mistwood seems like a good fit for your child, please complete an Enrollment Application and a Parent Questionnaire. Submit these forms, along with a non-refundable $100 Application Fee, to place your child in our waiting pool.
Forms may be submitted in person, by mail, or email. Application fee is payable by check / cash OR we can send a digital invoice.
We invite you to tour our school! We ask that your first tour be without your child, so that you are free to take in the information and environment while you’re here at Mistwood.
We are often asked about the length of the waiting list. We employ a waiting pool system rather than a waiting list system where we assess all the children who are eligible for the program at once in order to achieve an optimum balance in the classroom. If there are multiple applicants who are suitable for the openings we have, we respect the order of application submission. We encourage families to tour our school & learn more about our program to ensure that Mistwood is the right fit for their child prior to applying. However, some parents opt to submit the application form and fee before touring, either because they are just that confident about Mistwood or they wish to secure a spot in the waiting pool promptly. We are generally able to offer most children in our waiting pool a space in our school. That being said, the sooner you apply, the more likely it is that we will be able to meet your scheduling needs.
When your child’s enrollment date nears, we will reach out to begin the admissions process! A non refundable deposit equal to one month’s tuition will be required to secure a space in the class for your child. This admissions process will include answering your questions, working with you to select a schedule that best meets your families needs, and of course, scheduling a school visit for you and your child to meet the teacher and see the classroom in action. Occasionally, we will enroll a child mid school year, on an individual basis.
Our Annual Enrollment Process goes as follows:
February - Re-Enrollment for current returning students.
March - Priority Enrollment for siblings & children of Mistwood alumni.
April - Available Spaces are filled from our waiting pool.
Late April / Early May - Classroom visits for all new incoming Students.
Last Thursday in August - Open House for all enrolled families.
School begins in September!
